Pasanen only played a few games for Young Ajax since he returned to action from a serious injury that hept him sidelined for some five months. Nevertheless, he was selected for the Finnish national team straight away, for its friendly games against South-Korea and Portugal, scheduled for 20 and 27 March, respectively. This was reported by Ajax Netwerk.to.

However, Pasanen's selection has now become uncertain: the unlucky defender had to be replaced by Wesley Sneijder in yesterday's Young Ajax away game at Young FC Twente (0-1 win). How serious his new injury is, will be determined at an Amsterdam hospital today.

Petri is a great player. I remember when I used to go see him play for FC Lahti in the Finnish VeikkausLiiga. I wish him the best of luck at Ajax and hope to see him play again for Finland.

I'm sorry to say that Ajax USA cannot arrange individual match tickets for you. However, you can make your own arrangements by following the guidelines on our Tickets page. However, you'll have some difficulty arranging for tickets for the FC Utrecht game, since that is considered a "high security risk" fixture.

Sorry kierokaro, but how can a person be 21 if he's born in 1980, while we're living in year 2000???

I'll take your word for it. The players page has been corrected. Thanks!

I've known Petri all my life and I'm real happy for him. Now he's truly getting the respect as a soccer player he always should have had. Thou his birthdate is currently stated wrong in this website. He is now only 21 years old. So his birthyear should be 1980. I'm sorry I couldn't mail it to the administrators but I don't have that option right now.

I'm starting to really like Petri Pasanen. Sometimes you don't even notice he's playing, which is - in his case - a good thing. He's quiet and solid, just doing his job. A reliable guy, who seems to have adapted very easily. He received a great reward for that: he was invited for the Finnish national team for the first time, to play in the friendly between Ireland and Finland. Finland (with Pasanen and Litmanen) lost 3-0, but who cares? Petri Pasanen will probably play for Finland more often from now. Every game on a high level is a valuable experience for young players.
