Glad to see that Tomas is starting to get mentioned in despatches. This guy is just having one good match after another at present. Keep it up Tomas and prove all the doubters, including me after the injury last year, how wrong we were just view you as Co's man.

Checking UEFA.com's minute by minute match tickers, it looks like Tomas started for the Czech Republic. He was substituted on 55' with the match 0:0. Looks like an offense for defense swap. The Czech Republic, considered by some the favorite in the Oranje's group, went on to win 0:2 at Moldova.

Ajax Netwerk reports that Willem II's technical manager, Martin an Geel, as well as Tomás Galásek himself, deny the rumors about a possible Landzaat-Galásek swap. In fact, Tomás Galásek is said to be "annoyed" by the story. He's not interested in a transfer to his previous club and says he wants to stay at Ajax to play in the Champions League next season.

Just read Galasek's quote - I would have thought the reason he was left out of the team and the reason that he was booed by the crowd was not some major Galasekgate scandel but simply that he was playing crap since his return. He seemed to have lost that vital bit of pace that is required at this level. I hope this has returned at the training camp as before his injury I rated him highly.

Just wondering, who replaced Galasek as captain during the previous games? Was it Grim? I remember he wore the captain's armband sometime ago.

I guess he's almost ready to make his comeback. Ajax.nl reported on 06 September that Van der Meyde, O'Brien and Galásek had returned on the training pitch. Galásek and Van der Meyde joined the first team for some ball exercises, whereas O'Brien was not ready for that yet and just did some running.

In the mean time, Van der Meyde and even O'Brien have played their first Ajax-1 minutes again. Galásek seemed equally close or even closer to recovery earlier this month, so I'm pretty sure he'll be back soon.

Still injured, though: Ikedia, Pasanen (who watches home games sitting behind the opponent's goal) and Cruz (who's in Colombia and won't be back before the winter break).

I thought he was back on training at the moment, so he will be back very soon. To me there is no hurry at all, since we're doing fine without him... Never change a winning team!

Any news on when Galasek is due back.

I just heard that Tomas has taken a knee injury that will keep him out for 6 weeks. True? Any details known?

A-MA-ZING GOAL!! Absolutely brilliant. I was directly behind the goal at the ArenA and I could see it coming: Van der Vaart tipping it back from the box and then... BANG!!! A player can only dream of hitting it so well. Probably the best goal of the season, so far.

And, in the mean time, Galásek-the-right-midfielder has scored eight. Which is a lot and underscores his importance for the team. I'm a fan.

I wish I could see him play. Like Litmanen (coolest player i've seen to play for Ajax), eh... that makes me want to see him more. Is Tomas an injury prone player? He hasnt been injured since and yet, he is all over the field? He must be really good, made of solid rock...hehehe. Was he ever injured back in Willem II? Godspeed to Tomas and Ajax.

Check out the Ajax USA player page: born 15 January, 1973 in Ostrava (Czech Republic). Galasek was Co Adriaanse's favorite player at Willem II Tilburg, so he brought him along to Ajax. It's typical for the perfect player he is that Tomas is now Ajax's captain (and probably the best, most consistent player of the year, so far). He's absolutely brilliant - and he scores quite a lot of goals, too. He's brilliant in the Jari Litmanen way: everyhting looks so simple if Galasek does it, but he's always there, and he never makes mistakes. A true MARSHALL, an EMPEROR on the Ajax midfield.

Any got some information about this guy? Age? Previous clubs? Hey, nobody is talking about this guy, why? He has started for Ajax, I think for most of its games. Now, he is captain. Still, nobody is talking about this guy... Anyway, I think Co likes Tomas. The way I see it, Tomas just plays the game, some sort of silent leader. Leads by example or something. Although I haven't seen him play, I wish I could. Is this guy a Czech international? Well, he has beaten 2 Dutch internationals in midfield. What has Tomas got that Winter and Witchge don't have? How does he play? Is he influential?

Go Ajax!
