greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Needed: disposable aluminum pizza pan... cooking spray...baking sheet... 2 loaves of bread dough...1 egg...1T water...aluminum foil.

Roll pizza pan into cone shepe with a 5-in circular opening. Curve pointed end to one side

Spray form and sheet.

Roll dough into 15x9in rectangle aobut 1/4 in thick. Cut into 6 strips. cover with toel.

Starting at curved end, wrap one strip around the form, overlapping 1/2 inch. Continue to large opening.

Seal last strip under cornucopia.

Cover with towel and let it rest 15 min.

Beat egg and water, brush over corucopia.

Bake at 350 for 20 min, cover with foil, bake anotehr 20 min. Reduce heat to 250 bake 20 more minutes or til sounds hollow. Cool 10 min. on wire rack. Carefully remove form. Cool completely.

You can make them fancier by braiding the dough or you could make a larger frame for a larger cornucopia.

You can make these to eat or to use as a decoration.

Place on tray or board, whatever you have, fill with nuts, fruit artificial leaves, real leaves, etc. I change mine before Christmas and add pine.

Thanks,Cindy! I think I just might get ambitious and make one. If I start NOW, I will have time to re-do it a few times until I get it right! Jan
