Sears Tractor Accessories?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Dear Folks,

Providence gifted us with a Sears Suburban little tractor of unknown vintage, 12 horse and bright orange with a PTO on the right side on the Tecumseh engine. Also got a scraper blade, land plow and little harrow. Since then we have been given a trailer, drag rake and (by a miracle) a little sickle bar mower that mounts on the front and actually mounts on the PTO.

Now the question....does anyone know what sorts of other implements were ever made for this little metal mule? Might there be a cultivator out there, or perhaps a cordwood saw, or most important of all.....a manual? Sears doesn't have them any more. And where would be a good place to look for such old items?

Thanks much,

Is it a riding tractor or a 2-wheel walking tractor like the "David Bradley" sold by Sears in the 50s. Check out www.yesterdaystractor.com for more info.

Mine was 1969 model with a tecumseh engine,which has been replaced with a 14 horse from northern hydraulic. Sears made a manual 3 point hitch that bolts on the back . I made my own culitvator. I had a sickle mower& turning plow from sears, but sold them.

As a founding member of it, I formally invite you to The Sears Garden Tractor Club. The URL is;

http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/thesearsgardentractorclub

Everything you ever wanted to know and more you can ask on the forum. We now have 809 members. I have 2 of the larger tactors with disc,coulter plow,"middle buster" plow,push blade,sickle bar mower,landscape box, cultivator and a 42" mower deck.

MANY,MANY more implements were made and most are still around , but a cord wood saw was not one of them. Manuals are available in copy form at cost or free from most of the members...I have all of the manuals for mine.

Come on over!
