Suggestion on lenses for Nikon

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Photography Singapore : One Thread

Hi,

I would like to ask your opinion from your experiences regarding lenses. IBve got a Nikon F80 with Tamron 28-300mm, I was thinking of selling the Tamron and get a Tokina AF 28-70mm f/2.6-2.8 and a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8. In terms of picture quality is it worth the money to get those 2 lenses and I don't normally enlarge my print from normal postcard size ( I might do more enlargements in the near future). IBm just a beginner in photography and I know that those lenses I mentioned are for pros but IBm just one of the people who like to have some extra features that I'll need in the future eventhough I canBt really use the pro lens to its fullest potential because of my low experience in photography.

If someone out there happen to know the price of Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8, could you reply me an email / post a reply please.

I was thinking of getting a flash tooB..SB-28 or Sunpak PZ5000AF, anybody has any suggestion??.

IBm from Australia and photography accessories cost heaps more here compared to Singapore. Thanks to Wee Ken Hor for the tips of where to shop around for camera stuffs :).

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Cheers

You just got the F80, to use the full potential of your camera, 3d Matrix, you have to buy Nikkor lenses. Unless you will loose a good feature of the camera. I did the mistake, i don t what you to do de same.

yes, i agree, if u bought a F80, u should get nikkor lenses, it is the lense that produces the good photos, not the camera. and try to get straight lenses, they might cost more, but picture quality would be better if enlarged. i currently own a manual nikon and have not used zoom lenses although i have one.
