Where is our Current President...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

...and why isn't he saying something to us? anything? If I were the president, and MY nation was divided like this, and under such duress as this...I would certainly feel it my duty to address them, if only just to say "look, we know this is upsetting,..we're doing what we can to make sure all is well"...??

Nevermind, I heard on the news he was meeting with Yasser Arafat today to discuss middle east issues...so..I will forgive him, and even take back the bad name I called him under my breath.

Why would he apologize for something that he has been orchestrating and agitating for eight long years? He has done nothing but promote class warefare. He has pandered for votes and used the "Robinhood Tax Scheme" and pork barrel projects to pay for them. If you don't believe he, Gore, and his administration have been dividing this country just look at the votes for each candidate and where they were acquired. All this so he could establish "a Legacy". He established one - but I don't think it was the one he had in mind.

Really Nadine, I think you're right. We are a nation divided BECAUSE of him. And I think Gore will make it even worse, just personal opinion. I would have liked to have heard something from Clinton though. A reassuring word, whether I believed it or not..would have been nice.

Excellent ob ladies. The demographics of this election are scary as hell to anyone who worries about the future of this republic.

-- Carlos (riffraff@cybertime.net), November 09, 2000.

A Scenario:

Bill addresses nation and calls for a 'cooling'off period..say two months..Dec and Jan..

Then a new two month re-campaign..Feb and March with the 'new'election held the end of March..with the president-elect announced on April first..

-- know it won't happen (but then @gain.it May), November 09, 2000.

That scenario CAN'T happen because the Constitution won't let it happen. If the electors can't elect the president on December 18 it goes to the House. No choice is allowed.

-- ABC (a@b.c), November 09, 2000.

Since when has Clinton even acknowledged that there is a Constitution..

-- just an observer (of the l@st eight.years), November 09, 2000.

ABC:

Not exactly true if this goes to the courts. It will depend on pretrial decisions by the judge. Then we are into new territory. We may not see a decision until spring.

This house couldn't even pass a budget in a year. I seriously doubt that they could select a president in a month if they were given an opportunity. Then the Senate would need to select a vice. Don't see this as a real possibility.

Best wishes,,,,,

Bull Shit! Let "Mr. Gore, concede his fallacy. Bush is wanted because he believes in a Strong Military Infrastructure. Why are you people, so blind?

-- Milk Toast Americans (oneroom@heated.com), November 09, 2000.

Why do people who vote for Bush whine incessantly about how they hate having a president who is in charge of everything, and then whine incessantly if he doesn't give a speech about everything that happens?

Kritter, Don't you know by now that he doesn't care about OUR Country. It's been HIM all along, not the nation.

He is now going to make a trip to Viet Nam, what a joke. He fled our country to avoid the draft and now he wants to go over there and put on that phony smile and act like the pompus ass he is. He is such a disgrace.

Believe me he is behind every decision that the Gore team is making. They don't make a move without his imput. Gore being his "Own Man" my ass. He is Clinton's man and will be for the next 4 yrs. if they can succeed in getting this election overturned. What we will have in the White House is a Gore/Clinton/Liberman administration.

Clinton has divided this country like no time in history and until we get ALL his administration out its going to continue.

All I can say is GOD BLESS AMERICA because we sure need him to!!!
