TN - Sewer Gas Makes Manhole Covers FlyOfficials said it was a buildup of sewer gas that made several manhole covers shoot up in the air on Wednesday morning.
The covers came off near Memorial Auditorium in the vicinity of McCallie and Georgia avenues.
No one was injured.
Traffic was blocked in the vicinity as inspectors checked out the problem.
