A glitch in an Ameritech network in Chicago
caused an Internet outage Sunday for tens of
thousands of local users, including the
University of Chicago and University of
Illinois at Chicago. Ameritech said as many
as 35 customers--all Internet service
providers or institutions--were affected.
Some weren't back online until Monday.
