Three killed, 104 injured in S.Africa train crash

WIRE:11/07/2000 14:07:00 ET JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Three people were killed and 104 injured when two commuter trains collided on Tuesday near Germiston, about 10 miles east of Johannesburg, police said. "Two trains...collided late this afternoon. Three people have been confirmed dead and 104 injured," police spokeswoman Amanda Viljoen told Reuters. She said police did not expect the death toll to rise. The two train drivers were killed and four passengers had suffered serious injuries, she said. Last week 40 people were injured when two commuter trains collided outside the township of Soweto. ^
