Rail travellers between Dublin and Belfast are facing delays after a fire on board a southern-bound train near Drogheda in County Louth in the Irish Republic.

None of the 170 passengers on board the train was hurt. The blaze broke out in the control carriage, which was subsequently detached from the rest of the train.

The remainder of the train was towed into Drogheda and passengers were taken on to Dublin by bus.
