Tom, I'm coming in on this question rather late, but I'll share my recollections about the "Titanic" depot. In the early 1960's in the twilight of Cummer Sons Cypress Co. railroad operations out of their big mill at Lacoochee, Fl., I was lucky enough (because of a relative employed at the mill), to ride several of their steam-powered log trains into the Green Swamp. I remember that one log load-out siding was named Titanic. I was told that the name was given because of the extremely large or "titanic" logs that had been cut in that area many years before. Tom - I am unable to find any reference to a Titanic, Fla., on the ACL going back to 1900. Can you help us by a.) Giving the source of your information about this location, and b.) Tell us, if possable, what line of the ACL this place was supposed to be on. Thanks.
