Should rowboats be grounded for lightning protection, and how?

is the boat metal? if so a wire will be of no use you must get a grounded air terminal over head so that the cone of protection is formed.the operative word is grounded. this will work on wood,fiber glass or metal. see ABYC standard E-4(american boat and yacht council)
