Starting tomorrow [1st November], residents of Kiev will pay twice as much for heating and hot water. A resolution on the increase of tariffs for thermal energy, heating and hot water for the public has been signed by the Kiev mayor, Oleksandr Omelchenko. Central heating will cost 92 kopecks per square metre, including VAT. The rate for hot water will be 13 hryvnyas per person [per month], while if there is a meter in the apartment, the price will be three hryvnyas 89 kopecks per cubic metre. Those who live in a dormitory will pay four hryvnyas 70 kopecks per person. The resolution covers fluctuation of heating tarrifs dependent on the increase or reduction of natural gas prices for heating companies.
