MONTREAL (CP) -- A small airplane made an emergency landing on a busy highway, providing motorists with an air show during their rush-hour commute Wednesday morning.

Nobody was hurt when the Cessna aircraft landed on the shoulder of northbound Highway 25 at 8 a.m. after it had engine trouble.

The plane had taken off just minutes earlier from an airport in Mascouche, near Montreal.

"A doctor was sent over but everything was fine and the plane managed to take off from the same spot at about 10 a.m.," said provincial police spokesman Gerard Carrier.

The incident had little impact on traffic and the highway was not forced to close, Carrier said.

It was unclear whether the pilot had any passengers aboard, he added.
