How do I vote?.....It's simple!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Began to rant this morning and stopped. Went outside to do some physical labor to clear my head. Made the mistake of listening to the radio. they were talking about "all the undecided voters in swing states". "How the heck can anyone still be undecided at this point", I yelled at the radio. I figured if there are any undecided voters in swing states here at this forum, maybe I can help.

I posted a similar statement elsewhere in the forum today as a response, so if you've read it earlier, move on and save yourself some time.

How do I Vote?.....It's simple!

The election this year is about a simple choice for America. The choice is between right and wrong, good or evil. Forget 3rd party, it's between Bush and Gore now. It's simple.

Clinton and Gore are Evil. Period. They have no respect for God, Law, Life, Family, Liberty, Truth, the Constitution, Personal or Civil Rights or You. This is not opinion. These are unarguable facts. Reported widely and ignored by many. They have a documented record that reflects and proves this. If anyone argues these facts with you they are either; 1) trying to decieve you. 2) are decieved themselves. or 3) also have no respect for God, Law, et al.

No, I do not believe that George Dubya is the Messiah come to save us. There are others I would much rather see as President, but they aren't amoung the choices on the ballot this time. It's as simple as this....

If you believe in a country where the government controls the citizens- vote for Gore.

If you believe in a country where the citizens control the government- vote for Bush.

If you believe that the Constitution is no longer a valid document- vote for Gore- and have your guns ready for turn in.

If you believe it's ok to puncture the skull of a healthy, full term baby and suck it's brains out and call it choice- vote for Gore.

If you believe it's ok to trade campaign donations from the Communist Chinese Army for missile technology that allowed that army to target our kids- vote for Gore.

If you believe in a government where "we're concerned about the welfare of the children" includes, burning them alive with their families, yanking them out of the arms of their loved ones at the point of a machine gun (in contempt of an ongoing court case) or shooting their mothers in Idaho- vote for Gore.

If using the IRS, BATF, FBI and multiple other government agencies to harrass, silence and punish critics is an acceptable governmental practice to you- vote for Gore.

If you think it's ok to portray yourself as a staunch environmentalist, while a zinc mine under your farm in Tennesee is polluting the Columbia river basin with heavy metals- vote for Gore.

I can go on, but you either care for the truth and what's right..... or your willing to accept the Socialist agenda and the evil that goes with it.

See how simple it it is? Hope this helps. John.

John - you forgot to mention the dedication of Clinton/Gore/Hillary to Marxism/Socialism/Communism! GL

I waas torn for a bit. My unions what Gore,, but I choose my freedom instead of the good jobs Ive had

-- STAN (sopal@net-port.com), October 31, 2000.

On top of all of that, there is the simple fact that Gore is a pathological liar. He can't stop. I don't want that dealing with other goverments. annette

Amen, John! I agree 1000% and I hope some of those "undecideds" will read this post and make up their mind that Bush is our only choice. No, he's not perfect I'm sure but certainly better than the alternative!! I will be voting for Bush next Tuesday.

-- bwilliams (bjconthefarm@yahoo.com), October 31, 2000.

I'm sorry John, in life you are either part of the problem, or part of the solution. I cannot vote for someone who is willing to sell my soul to the devil in the name of big business, I have to vote for someone who represents my ideals and beliefs that this country is in desperate need of a return to Constitutional basics. Bush and Gore will only set us back, I want to go forward, third party is the ONLY way to go forward. To solve this countrys problems requires a change in leadership, be brave, vote for change!!! Annie in SE OH.

-- Annie Miller (annie@1st.net), October 31, 2000.

Annie, I need to respectfully disagree w/ you here. I really do understand and respect, your desire to vote for the candidate who best meets your needs, desires, beliefs, social agenda, etc. I will disagree w/ you that, ANY President, is going to be able to meet EVERYONES, needs, desires, beliefs..... My perception here is that what you are looking for is not exactly what I'm looking for in a chief executive.

Nobody can sell your soul to the devil but you.

I'm not sure that "Big Business" is all bad. Business responds to economic forces. If people protest by not purchasing products from them because of ideological differences (or whatever differences) businesses will change practices. One recent example is NIKE. This business area is probably good for discussion till new years on it's own & I'll quit here.

Of the 2 VIABLE candidates in THIS election, which one do you think respects the Constitution more? (hint- think 1st, 2nd,4th and 10th admendments). I do not believe that GDubya will set us back any more. I KNOW that Al will.

I don't necessarilly agree that 3rd party is the ONLY way to go to change things. I'm am not saying it can't, might not be or may be. I don't really know. It took about 60 years of Liberal Democratic leadership and law making(plus about 6 recent years of weak dumb a** republican house leadership) to get things to where they are now. NOBODY but GOD is going to just move in and make things better immediately. It's going to take awile to see any big changes. (think Supreame court nominees)

Do you think the Liberal establishment is going to role over, play dead and allow Ralph, Pat or Harry Browne a free ride, even if they were elected by a landslide? Not Likely. That's part of the reason I believe in working in an established organization.

Which leads me to your final point about leadership. These sorry fools (republicans) have had their butts kicked by Slick Willie for per near 8 years. Bill is one of the best politicians, if not the best politian, in my life. This is not an endorsment of the guy, but should make you think what a GOOD man could do if he put some spark into things. I believe GW is a better man than his dad. Has better leadership qualities. And has the will to lead America back to the path. Messiah? Not hardly. But it will/could be a start in the right direction anyway.

Remember what it says. 2nd Chronicles 7: 14. "If My people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, them will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land" -GOD.

Please vote for whomever you will tuesday. All of you vote for someone please. God Bless you all, John

I am going to write in Nader...as are many folks up here in north Idaho. there are signs everywhere for him...

Please write him in if you don't like the other two. Let's get a third party going for real!

We the people...

Point well taken, John, I agree that we respectfully disagree; our country is but a work in progress. Annie in SE OH.

-- Annie Miller (annie@1st.net), November 01, 2000.

Most of what I read in this ranting is just not true. So many facts were missing. So much overlooked. I vote Gore!

-- Nick (wildheart@ekyol.com), November 01, 2000.

Nick, name one thing not true. Gore is a commie and a space alien for mars. chux

-- chux (chuxorama@netscape.net), November 01, 2000.

Annie,

Im a bit confused and I am honestly curious...I agree that one should support candidates that will best uphold the Constitution and the Bill of Rights but I thought you were a Nader supporter. The two do not match.

-- William in Wi (thetoebes@webtv.net), November 01, 2000.

William, Nader? No, I have been a strict Libertarian since the party's inception, I may not agree with everything they propose, but it matches my ideals the closest of all. Harry Browne has my vote! Annie in SE OH.

-- Annie Miller (annie@1st.net), November 01, 2000.

Annie, I could go for Harry Browne and the Libertarians w/ only a bit more push. I Have to agree w/ Ed(?) who posted a response about all of us going to work the day after this election. I will stand pat (not Buchanan :-) for now.

Nick, Proof available for everything I said. "Widely reported, ignored by many". You only validate my points unless you can show me where I've made an untrue statement. I think it's fine for you to be a gore supporter. I really mean it. That's what our Republic is about, being able to disagree w/out getting sent off to the Gulag. So be proud of al. But be honest w/ yourself as to your reasons for it. Respectfully, John

-- John in S. IN (jsmengel@hotmail.com), November 02, 2000.

What do you find lacking in the Libertarian platform that you need a bit more push, I'm curious as to how to better represent the party. Annie IN SE OH.

-- Annie Miller (annie@1st.net), November 02, 2000.

Annie, the main issue is abortion. I will never be able get over that 1 thing. If Libertarians did not endorse that - choice, I could probably go along w/them. I will admit to having a limited knowlege of all the finer points of libertarianism. What I do know maakes sense. Dave Duffy, the editor of Backwoods Home Magazine writes convincingly using logic and Libertarian as anchors. Logic seems to be the key missing point of politics in general. Logic definetley is missing in government and the way it is run. Gotta go to work, all of you have a good day, John

-- John in S. IN (jsmengel@hotmail.com), November 03, 2000.

John

The things you stated were basicly libel. There is nothing that you can prove and it is misleading information being passed on. If even some was true the repuplican witch hunters would have set up a special council and wasted more taxpayers money.By the way no matter how Bush says it, it is still trickle down and guess who gets the trickle.

-- Nick (wildheart@ekyol.com), November 03, 2000.

Nick,

You had better pray that you "get trickled" or our economy is going back into the dumpster. The upswing in the economy started in the end of the Bush administration. Please explain to me how Clintons policy had helped the economy even before he took office? It didnt. When a president makes a positive change to the economy it takes years for the effects to be seen. What was occuring at the end of the Bush administration was Reagans doing. Our economy grew stronger for a period of time due to the reinvestment and R&D done by large corporations. When things began to plateau is when Clinton started cooking the books. The information is out there if you are really interested in finding it. I fear that regardless of who gets into office next we are in for a recession or worse because of Clintons bookkeeping shenannigans.

-- William_in_WI (thetoebes@webtv.net), November 03, 2000.

If there is a particular part of the accusations against Gore that bothers you then please let us know what it is so I can post documentation surpporting Johns statements against Gore.

-- William in WI (thetoebes@webtv.net), November 03, 2000.

Nick, Libel? Not hardly. Every "if you" Is based in fact. You my friend are not being honest about this issue. I told you it's all right w/ me if you want to be a cheerleader for al. I spent 10 years sworn "to protect the constitution from all enemies, both foreign and domestic", so you could enjoy that right to be a cheerleader. Your ideology choice, tho an abomination to me, is your choice. Now, prove me wrong w/ facts, not media jargon, or go wait in the truck. Respectfully yours, John

PS William, salient point regarding trickle down. thanx, John

-- John in S. IN (jsmengel@hotmail.com), November 03, 2000.

John I went back over what you stated. I still find no facts that would stand up anywhere. You still insist on using emotional personal opinion to prove a point. I have been in court and there is no way I would insult the judge with your so called facts. Most of what is written is slanted one way or another. You like to shock if possible as your statement on abortion. You Kept refering to your statements as your opinion in the manner you stated them. This is correct republican application of misdirection but it doesn't make it right. Unarguable facts, surrrre they are. Believe what you want but try to include all the facts not just those that aid your point.

-- Nick (wildheart@ekyol.com), November 04, 2000.

John, brilliant post! You and I think a whole lot alike and I can;t really add to what you've said because you've said it all. I have noticed that some people disagree with you. Let me say that Hitler also had many supportors, who were able to "justify" anything he did.

-- Mark M (MagicMark85@aol.com), November 04, 2000.

Well, its no wonder politics are so screwed up.If you can't get 20 people on a web site to agree on issues how then can any one canidate make the change that will work for all? I will say that I am sick of the same old crap, republicans and democrates ,and myself am ready for a change and I don't like the green party however if that were my only other choice than that would be change.

-- Richard Miller (richard.miller@1st.net), November 04, 2000.

Richard, Your correct. Nobody ever has, or is now going to make us all one big happy family. Heck, I don't like a whole lot of what the republicans have been doing. The main reason I have been so hard on clinton/gore is they have proven themselves completly untrustworthy.

Which leads me back to Nick. What I said was, I could support my STATEMENTS w/ facts. You have finally mentioned, but not challenged, a topic I spoke of, abortion. I assume that to mean you don't believe my statement regarding it.

The vice president has repeatedly stated his position on abortion. He does not wish to see any restrictions on a womans right to choose. I won't quote that as it's late and I paraphrase here.

Partial birth abortion is a procedure where a baby, of any age, is inverted to a breech position and delivered, until the head is the only thing still w/in the birth canal. A pair of scissors is then inserted into the base of the skull and opened a few times. I assume the baby stops kicking about that point. A pair of large curved foreceps is then inserted in the hole and followed w/ a vacuum catheter which evacuates the contents of the skull. the body is then delivered and desposed of.

That's what partial birth abortion is about. No arguements allowed. I am in the medical field and have looked it up in the manuals so I could know for sure.

I don't care if he said he would pass a ban if it included stipulations about a mothers health. Here's why. C. Everret Koop, former surgeon general-"there is no medical indication for this proceedure". The AMA- There is no evedence of effecacy, or need, regarding this proceedure. (paraphrased, as I don't have it in front of me.)

The issue is, if there is no real medical reason for it why? And why the big deal of banning it? There are no restrictions. A woman due on friday can legally go in thursday and submit a child to this. Were not talking about a D&C at 6 weeks here. (I have no time for that either, but that can be a different argument some other time.) This procedure is a blight on mankind. Hitler killed "defective" babys and children. He was called a monster. WE allow perfectly healthy babys to be killed for Ideology. What does that say about us?

Yes, I do try to shock people about Partial Birth abortion Nick. It is a shocking and disgusting procedure. And most people don't realize just what is involved w/ it. People don't even wish to believe it happens. But it does, everyday. And it continues because liberal Ideology won't allow ANY KIND of restrictions on abortion.

That's why I said what I said about abortion. If you wish to pick another topic for me to elaborate on, I would be only to happy to accomodate you. Sincerely, John

-- John in S. IN (jsmengel@hotmail.com), November 05, 2000.

John, I agree that partial birth abortions are completely uncalled for, and I feel that they violate the fetus's Constitutional rights at this point. I feel, and I believe the Libertarian party concurs, that to take a fetus's life after the point of viability is reached, is to violate that fetus's rights guaranteed it under the Constitution. A woman's right to choose only exists up to this critical point, which is usually thought of to be before the third month of pregnancy. Annie in SE OH.

-- Annie Miller (annie@1st.net), November 05, 2000.

John,

I am a lifelong Tennessean, born here. He will not carry his own home state. We have driven all over the state during the month of October. You see Bush/Cheney signs running three to one all over the state. (in front of shacks, in front of mansions and everything in between!) He has sold his soul out to Clinton. If he had said the word when Clinton dishonored the office with perjury and his behavior and revisited his earlier stated convictions, there might have been some hope for him. Like everyone who touches the Clintons and pins their hopes to them, he has come out tainted.

This race may be close, but I don't believe it will. I think there has been a quiet rage growing in many people against the evil in this administration. New York, please! dump Hillary before it's too late!

Bush will carry Texas. Gore will not carry Tennessee, unless the black vote in Memphis scrapes him by somehow. That should tell you something. This bunch has succeeded in pitting the black against the white, the poor against the rich. We are sick of it. If this country does not use this opportunity to fumigate this government, there may not be another chance for a long time and a lot of grief.

Wanda

-- Wanda King (wanda7@edge.net), November 05, 2000.

Wanda, I sincerely hope you are correct in your assessment. I fear many will stay home as I did in the only election I failed to vote in, 1992. I had just moved and failed to plan ahead. Yuck!

Al used to vote Pro-life, Pro-gun till he came to DC. Your so right about people getting close to clinton getting dirty. I guess you should expect to get something on your shoes, walking thru so much Horse poop.

I've never been so ready for an election. I can tell you I'm ready to flush that mess out of DC. The damage done culturally and the hate propagated between groups by the clintonista regieme, may have set us back 25 years in race relations. While pushing us closer to Sodom and Ghommorrah in cultural status. Remember the delagates booing the Boy Scouts who carried the Flag in LA at their convention?

Have a great day all. Looks like rain later today here, cloudy and a red dawn. In Gods love, John
