their country. They do not have the courage to even vote in the best interest of the country for fear of losing bribe money from "lobbyists" so that they would lose their easy jobs and power over the people. It was an inspiration to watch and dream about when there were true patriots in this country. There are probably many more patriots in the posters and readers on this forum than in all of Washington D C and in the Congress. I heard a retired military officer caller on a local talk radio show today that the military supply situation is so bad that the recruits do not even have toilet paper to use. This is pathetic. Congress authrizes $50 million for a new whatzamacallit in Poduck that is not needed or serves to provide local jobs and marginal facilities while the military is starved for basic maintenance supplies and spare parts. They do not have adequate fuel or ammo to even practice more than a few days a month if that often.

The caller above had even worked for Dick Cheney when he was Secretary of Defense. He said that Mr. Chaney was a decent, patriotic American and he may be the exception to the above comments.

Algore promised to eliminate the deficit withing 12 years today. Does he think that the people are that stupid or is he himself stupid? Perhaps the Democrats who believe this are that stupid. With a Democrat Congress that has already spendt one half of the alleged surplus this month. ROTFLMAO. (Rolling on the floor laughing my a-s off} Lets see now increase social security, increase prescription benefits, Not one additonal new Federal employee. etc. etc. etc. That last one is a riot. How will he accomplish all these promises with not one additonal Federal employee? Federal employees watch out. Will he propose 100 hour work weeks to increase the efficiency of the gobmint? The best one is today he announced that he only wants to control the guns that are used improperly. How will he do that? How does he know which gun will be used to kill someone? The existing 14,000 gun control laws are not enough? Duh.

Uh, Ed, the Congress is Republican.

Republican in name only Patricia. The boys of '94 have spent a lot of time learning how to get reelected by watching "big hands Bill". Unfortunately, it works to stand for nothing.
