A leading British scientist has predicted that an ozone hole will start developing over the North Pole, similar to the badly damaged ozone layer over Antarctica.
Jonathan Shanklin is one of a trio of British scientists who discovered the Antarctic ozone hole in 1985.
He claims the Arctic hole is likely to be as big as the present one over Antarctica.
He says the hole is partially caused by ozone erosion and partially by global warming.
