KCA Website

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Kentlands : One Thread

Congratulations and thanks to Rick Marvin and our governing body. The KCA web site (www.kentlandsusa.com) is up and running and current! Rick announced this at the board meeting last night and urged any community group with notices they want posted to send them to him (preferably in electronic form, which makes his work easier).

Just a quick update on the website: We're starting to get regular information updates from CMC (Thanks, Paula!), so I've put the information links on the welcome page instead of the calendar. The calendar is in its former location now.

A search function has been added so you can search the site for particular words or phrases. This can be useful when looking for information in the KCA documents. CMC will be providing back copies of the board meeting minutes. The minutes will added to the site when they're available.

I've proposed recording the board meetings and providing streaming audio (non-realtime). The board shot that one down at the February meeting.

There are still problems getting the Town Crier articles, but that's being worked.

There have also been changes in the web site structure and format to improve its useability, but there's still a lot to be done there. Stay tuned for further updates.

It will be great to have access to the board meeting minutes on the KCA website. As for the board's decision to not provide an audio version on-line, I think it is a reasonable one.

The board meetings are open to any Kentlands resident who wants to attend. The Town Crier generally includes a summary of board actions from the preceding month's meeting, and summaries are posted on a couple of bulletin boards in different locations in Kentlands. Flyers detailing the planned agendas for upcoming board meetings and otherwise reminding us about important issues are distributed to us, posted on bulletin boards, and also available at the clubhouse. Now, we are to have convenient access to board meetings' minutes through the KCA website. That should be more than enough to keep us informed.
