AS the world oil consumers mount pressure for
increase in production level to stem, the
increasing price level, officials of the
Nigerian oil industry have expressed the
nation's inability to sustain such higher
output quota if the Organisation of Petroleum
Exporting Countries (OPEC) decided so.

The Guardian in October 4 reported doubts over
Nigeria's ability to sustain higher OPEC quota.

. . .

"If OPEC allocates higher output to us, yes, we
will be able to produce it but we might not be
able to sustain it," he stated.
