I have just bought this book (it's out in paperback) and have read most of it. It is of course about George W. I had not fully realized until now how awful he is, as a presidential candidate. Sweet Jesus! And trust me, I'm no liberal.

Molly Ivins

Agreed! Molly Ivins is a very gifted writer, and keeps me in stitches for hours. She has a talent for citing selective detail nobody else can equal, and weilds it effectively if one-sidedly. Without question, she could do an even more devastating and hilarious hatchet job on Ann Richards if she chose. We are all the poorer because Ivins' partisanship deprives us of her skewering of the juiciest targets to be had.

Peter, just close your eyes and imagine what Ivins could do to Gore if she so desired. But don't imagine too hard, lest you break bones rolling around laughing. Ivins is that good.

As for Molly-

I think that since she has been diagnosed with breast cancer, her insights are even more keen. She is very close to the bone these days, and I applaud her. She is on my list for a must read.

Didn't Molly Ivins get caught in a documented prevaracation a couple of years ago? I seem to remember that she was caught red-handed and had no choice other than to admit to the obvious. Of course she was only one of them who was caught. Remember how easy Carl Rowan got off in D.C. after he shot a prowler with an unregistered handgun. Try doing that yourself.
