SAS plane makes forced landing

A SAS plane made an emergency landing at Oslo Gardermoen airport after cockpit instruments indicated a fire in a jet engine. The 99 passengers and six crew are safe, and the alarm proved false.

Instrument failure was blamed for the false alarm. Nine months ago another SAS plane was also forced to return to Gardermoen after faulty wiring produced a bogus warning.
