Does anyone have any information about spot coloring B&W prints. Best paper, best tools, ect. I've seen it but have had no interest until a customer recently asked for it. Its mainly used in portrait photography.

I used to teach Hand Coloring and have been doing it for years. Fiber paper is what is usually used. This way the oils penetrate the paper. There are different manufacturers of coloring media but I think the best are oils. Kits can be purchased from a good camera store in your area. Typically, all I would use are the Q-tips made for womans makeup (sharp point on one end and broad swab on the other), wooden toothpicks for extremely fine details like hair and eye lashes and cotton balls to do major blends. The nice part with this is if you don't like it, you clean it off and start over. Go to www.handcolor.com and just read some of the threads or your welcome to email me. Cheers
