Wednesday, October 18 1:21 PM SGTUnited Airlines jumbo in emergency landing in New Zealand AUCKLAND, Oct 18 (AFP) - A United Airlines Boeing 747 en route from Melbourne to Los Angeles Wednesday made an emergency landing in New Zealand, media here reported.
The plane with 296 people aboard diverted to New Zealand after its captain declared an electrical emergency aboard.
He asked for a full emergency turnout.
TV3 Network said the aircraft landed safely and had taxied off the runway.
No other details we immediately available.
