Well as I posted last week (10/10), on Saturday I was the Auctioneer at the local Eagles Club. I have worked the ring at a few auctions this was the first time Auctioneering since attending Auction School in 1983 and even then they were mock Auctions.

Well all went good. It was an Auction for the Eagle Club to raise money for local charitys. The Auction was only open to club members so the crowd was small (about 25 people). Most of the merchandise was used items like old coffe makers, toasters, an old TV, some used exercise equipment ect... Just typical junk you might find at a yard sale or Flea Market. They had a few Gift Certificetes donated by local businesses. All total we sold $492.25, it took me about a hour and a half to sell it all.

I only had one mees up but it was solved quickly. My throat and mouth were quite dry when I was done. It seemed that everyone was happy and we had a few good laughs. The Club was happy with the amount of dollars raised, they said they never raised that much an such a short period of time. They have had yard sales in the past that took all weekend and did not raise as much, plus everything was sold and removed the same day, no storage til the next yard sale.

I have volenteered my services for next year and will help them set it up a little better and hopefully have more merchandice. I hope to have my Auctioneer Licence by then and we will be able to open it to the Public. Thanks for letting me Share my excperence!

Good for you! I think it's great when we get to do things we've wanted to do for a very long time. Maybe a little scary sometimes, but you did it! You helped your friends at the auction raise money, and you helped us by sharing the news!
