OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A United Airlines plane made an emergency landing at Eppley Airfield after passengers said they heard a grinding noise in an engine. Flight 178, en route from Los Angeles to Boston, altered its course to Omaha, where it landed shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The were no injuries. The 105 passengers on aboard the Airbus A320 were scheduled to stay overnight in Omaha.
A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman declined to say what caused the plane to make the emergency landing but said an investigation was to begin Thursday. FAA: http://www.faa.gov
