What Malcolm said. And if you're so interested why don't you look up the answer at your local library?????? It's as big as your font.

I totally disagree with Malcolm.

The sun spins aproximately once every 27 days at the equator, and once every 35 days at the poles. Yes the equator and poles do spin at different speeds.

This link will give you more information.

Thank you Malcolm. You didn't sound too sure on your first reply, and then Future Shock contradicted you, so I wasn't sure. You have provided good evidence, so now I believe you. Good man.

FS was joking (I hope he's more intelligent than that!)

Jester--

The sun rotates but it also translates and spirals. All the while the Earth orbits this wandering pile of fusion. My dead reckoning is a-kilter. Wifey says to ask for directions but I would never do THAT!

I disagree with FS and Malcolm.

I disagree with everything that has been said so far. And everything else that will be said on this subject. The sun is broken and it can't be fixed.

Brian's right. In ten billion years (give or take), anyone within a light second of anything worth being within a light second of, will be toast.

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,

and I say it's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter

Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun

and I say it's all right

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces

Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun

and I say it's all right
