I called to get a quote from a printer today, for a publication printed on newsprint. She asked if it would be printed before or after January, and explained that newsprint was increasing in price by 25% in January. Maybe this was a ploy to book lots of printing in the last part of this year, but I thought I would pass it along as more grist for the mill. They've already downsized the size of their publication to 10 inches by 11-3/4 inches image area (from 10-1/2 x 13), and that's their new "standard tabloid" sizes, although they have enough of the bigger paper left to complete my job (the pages of this publication are 10-1/2 x 13).
