pure peach juice--does it still exist??

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Hi, folks,

Some twenty-six or seven years ago, I used to drink one or two quarts of Heinke's Brand Peach Juice every day. Then they quit bottlling it. I've been searching for pure peach juice ever since. Now I drink beer and wine instead.

I never felt healthier than I did in those days: I ate only raw food, and drank only peach juice, apple juice, and pear juice, and a few other juices. I didn't have a water supply developed yet, and I didn't have a kitchen. In fact, I only had a double bed out in a meadow, while waiting for escrow to close on my land for two months, then for six more weeks while I built my house. I was working from four thirty a.m. until nine or nine thirty p.m every day, trying to get the house done before the winter rains, and had the most energy ever.

To make a long story longer, does anyone know a source for pure peach juice? (and I don't mean peach nectar)

Help! Thanks,

JOJ

Dole makes a frozen juice blend called orchard peach. It has no sugar or corn syrup if I remember correctly, it is a blend of peach and white grape juice. The white grape juice makes it a little sweet for my taste though. You could try making your own and canning it.

JOJ, what is the difference between juice and necter? I know we sell one or the other at the healthfood store where I work--all peach, no other juice, no water, nothing. They make blueberry, cherry, and I think elderberry? I'll get the brand name and any other info and post later. Cathy in NY

OK, I answered my own question-nectar is with fruit puree, juice is no puree. Bionature makes lots of nectars, no juice. Knudsen and After the Fall both make pure juices, but not peach. They make pear, apple, cherry, and cranberry. Biotta makes several vegetable juices. All of these are organic. If you can't find them in the supermarket, call your local healthfood store.
