how do I get Canadians to think like Americans in new media

How do I get Canadiens to think like Americans when it comes to the new media,ie permission based marketing,online promotion,web developement etc,to stop sitting on the fence,make a decision or give me the no upfront and save us all alot of time or just sit on the fence and watch the economy go by!

Canadians are practical people and we like to see the ROI on something before we jump in. We've been paying attention you see, and so we know that there is no ROI, at least in a revenue sense, for a lot of what is going on in the web world. We know that some of the biggest players are not making ANY money. The annual report of one of Canada's fine examples of ecommerce, Chapters.ca, lists their business goal as reducing annual losses. So we're wondering, why should we be doing this? You are in the business, so I presume you can tell me what's in it for me, because it ain't money. And don't tell me I have to be there because everyone else is. We don't buy that here.
