Power outage affected thousands in Burien area October 4, 2000, 03:15 PM BURIEN  Power was restored in the early afternoon Wednesday to most of the 3,050 homes in the Burien area that were part of the outage from 11:08 a.m.

Highline Community Hospital was affected and running on emergency generator power. Ambulance transports were diverted to other hospitals and outpatient procedures were rescheduled.

The cause of the outage is still unknown.
