My favorite thread

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

I find much amusement at the forum ranging from wiseacre remarks to jokes to humorous anecdotes. I wish I could remember them all; I wish I had saved some.

But one stands out for me. Several months ago, Oxy started a straight forward thread about the Fall gathering in LV. The thread meandered in typical fashion til someone (I don't know who--it was an alias but I don't even remember the alias) posted a series of comical photos of many of the more common posters. Each picture was accompanied by a parody post in the style of that individual. I was laughing so hard I almost barfed on my keyboard (not exaggerating here). That is the funnist post I can recall.

Wondering if anyone else remembers favorite posts, funny or moving or provacative or whatever.

Lars: I DO remember that it was tooooo funny!!

I 'think' i know who did it but i wont tell ---- hint capn?

the funniest one I can recall, again, dont know the name of it either is the one where ALL started using alias's and pretended we were someone else...LMAO at that one...

Also the infamous BONG thread.

Thanks for the reminder, I'm sure someone will venture along and provide links. :-) hmmm?

Lars,

Dunno that this was a favorite, but since Patricia has inroduced the joys of html to Maria { & no doubt corrupted many more impressionable minds } - can it be too long before something like this happens here?

A couple spring to mind. The first was a thread by FS asking people to write about experiences with miracles back around Memorial Day.

Another was the thread on which Luna spoke out about her struggles. Changed my life and that of more than a few on this board. An outpouring of love such as I'd never witnessed before.

Sumer, the bong thread was actually begun by Unk asking us to list our music preferences. That one was a true group experience.

Good idea for a thread, Lars.

Sumer!!!,

I would love to take credit but it wasn't moi,you know me well though,I WOULD do something like that.

I loved the BONG thread!!!

My fav thread was one that migrated from the old TB2,it was a deep metaphysical thread about religion, heaven, hell etc..,no time right now but I do have it here, somewhere.

Cool idea Lars.

{having trouble posting this one}

Here's an eclectic smattering of some of my favorites { alas, I'm still link impaired after all these years }. If I had them bookmarked - I'd also add the beastiality thread, FS's Deja Vu & reincarnation.

One of my favorites was titled simply "Coke or Pepsi". That one really morphed on the way. Anyone have it? Also, I am flattered at the folks who remember the threads I started and how they are listed as favorites. Looks like I should post more often with original writing. I thought the first poetry thread was cool too, as I discovered the talents of Lars, particularly, and others on this board.

Now if I could only stop the world for a minute and sit down and write--sigh

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), September 29, 2000.

Hah! I remember "Coke and Pepsi". Am I wrong FS, didn't you just run a nonsense question up the flagpole to see who would salute? You had had such success with the underwear thread that you decided to try another thread with a simple question and see where it led.

More recently there was the "female urinal" thread. Can't remember who started that but it certainly proved that we're never too old for silliness, especially bathroom humor.

-- Lars (lars@indy.net), September 29, 2000.

Why do I not remember the underwear thread? Sober blackout?

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), September 29, 2000.

Underwear thread--

I think you titled it something like "do you wear cotton or polyester underwear?". It quickly evolved into, for men, jockies vs briefs and dress to the right vs dress to the left and pee over the top vs pee thru the "labyrinth". FS, you must acknowledge your responsibility for this memorable thread.

Guys: Briefs, or boxers? Girls: Lace, or cotton?

Looks like I got FS confused with FF. Never mind.

I'm about to croak from laughing, and I'm all alone in the room! ROFLMAO!!! Somebody give me oxygen!

Read again "Sad goodbyes to all my fans", here's the excerpt that got me over the edge:

I knew I had it somewhere,It's called "The Great Deception" though it is of no relation to a thread that is up on the board currently.

I should also add that it is a very long down load.

OMG the memories.....ROFLMAO!!!!

Yes, it appears we do have our 'wild' dayz now doesnt it?

Tooooo funnnnyyyyy!!!!

I loved the one from SF, were all gonna live.

And the panty thread, oh my.......that sure did escalate to sheer crazed to herbal advice???LMAO.

Toooo cool....but yeah the pepsi/coke thread was toooo cooollll, NOW, who is gonna FIND IT?

-- consumer (shh@aol.com), September 30, 2000.

My two favorite serious threads ever are two of the ones already mentioned (by capnfun and Bingo): "The Great Deception" and the thread that Luna C became involved in. If I'm not mistaken, I think the subject of that thread was suicide.

On favorite silly threads and miscellaneous ones -- they're just too numerous to mention. I mean I have so much fun with them -- even reading ones that I wasn't involved in. I'm just sorry that I haven't seen them all.
