Is CPR a Chickenshit?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

Of course CPR is a chickenshit. Here he spends the livelong day without a chance of changing any minds, without a chance of affecting historical memory of Y2K (because we don't do history), without a chance of having any impact at all on our future.

Meanwhile the most important presidential election in a long while is only a few weeks away, and the campaign has reached its crucial phase. Why isn't CPR spending all his time and energy interacting with the voters on behalf of his candidate, George W. Bush?

Answers

I won't mention the tasteless thread title, Peter, but interacting with the voters in Texas on behalf of George W. Bush is like interacting with the voters in DC on behalf of Al Gore. The swing states will decide this election, and Texas isn't one of them.

I think Peter was talking about CPR going to political forums and attempt to persuade democrats and independants.

Heck, with his zeal, he probably could convince the Napster community to register and vote.

Put on your leather pants CPR and go rock the vote on Napster ;)

Methinks that the Republican Nation Committee paid CPR not to use his, ummmm, skills of persuasion for W. Seems that W wants to win.

Well, I will mention the tasteless thread title. If he's made no "impact at all on our future", then why are you even bothering starting thread after thread about him?

Time to get over it.

Poor Pete - the guy who was absolutely and completely wrong about Y2K dares to lecture others? Hee, hee...

Well said, Y2k Pro.

To Y2K Pro:

Yes, I was wrong about Y2K (although as a Yardeni-ite, I consider myself to have been wrong in quite a respectable way.) However, I do not believe that CPR has reached the peak of human perfection and is thus immune from all criticism, even from such as I.

To CPR:

What you have just said, if the English language has any meaning, is that I was wrong in asserting that you had not reached the peak of human perfection. Well, silly me.

-- Peter Errington (petere@ricochet.net), September 26, 2000.

Keep thinking about it. It might take a month or two for you to arrive at a correct answer but you are a bit slow.
