The dead - and ear hairs.

Im not much of a TV watcher, but the other night, I caught an unusual show. It was a man named John Edward, who channeled messages from the dead to members of his audience.

Im not quite sure what to make of it. He seemed to know facts about peoples lives that would not be available by casual research, but still, it had the smell of doubt.

I mean, the things he related were quite personal, but I have a hard time thinking that someone (or someones spirit) would manage to breach the pale of death, and then have a message for a wife, like, Hey, remember that time you trimmed the hair in my ears?. This was actually one of the messages on the night I saw the show.

Anyone have any opinions?

(BTW, if you want to offer to sell me some swamp land, forget it; I already own a pretty fair share.)

I saw a man doing that, working an audience, and he seemed to be "fishing" quite a bit for information. He would phrase his questions to elicit yes/no responses. It didn't look real to me.

OTOH, I saw a woman doing it who was VERY specific about picking a person from the audience and telling them VERY specific details about the dead person she "saw" hovering near the person she picked. She looked real. I had NO desire to experience it for myself to see if she could really do it.

The mundane "remember when you trimmed my ear hairs" messages might be mundane simply to make the person sure about the veracity of the information given. I have never trimmed my husband's ear hairs, but there was this time I...you get it? If some channeling stranger could tell me some intimate thing I did for my husband that isn't known by anyone else, I would be more likely to believe it.

Helen, this guy is really good if he is faking it. He doesnt fish very much, and he often gives very specific details about a persons life. Of course, he knows beforehand who is to be in the audience, because you have to call for tickets. He just may have a very good (and unintrusive) investigator to feed him info. Or, I suppose, he just may be what he claims to be.

His show comes on at night, on the SCI-FI channel.

Lon -- I hear from the dead now and then, but thankfully never SEE them.
