Transformer explosion cuts power for an hourSunday, September 24, 200
CHICOPEE A transformer explosion in front of 640 McKinstry Ave. caused a one-hour power outage in the McKinstry Avenue area and most of the Aldenville section yesterday.
Police said the power went out about noon and was restored about 1 p.m.
A Chicopee Electric Light Department spokesman was unable to provide any details about the incident.
