I have tried to find a photo of the old (GS&F) Southern depot in Palatka, FL without sucess. I received a letter from the RAILORAD STATION HISTORICAL SOCIETY, and their research finds the only passenger station in Palatka was the Union station, and was used by ACL, FEC, and GS&F(Sou Rwy)going back to 1899. Does any in the ACL/SAL HS know this for a fact? I know the GS&F had a depot/freight station on the St. Johns River in the 1940's, but do not know when it was torn down. I had been told by locals that the Southern track paralled the ACL south for a few blocks, and then turned left, off to the St. Johns River site. If any one could help with a photo or information if Southern ever used the freight station for passengers or only for freight, and use the Palatka Union Station along with ACL, and FEC. Their are no photos of Southern passengers trains in the local museum in the old Palatka Union Station or any information about Southern using this station. Thanks for any help. Allen L.
