greenspun.com : LUSENET : Elevator Problem Discussion : One Thread

Are there any recommendations in the code (or any accepted logic/algorithm) for Duplex Control of elevators.. i.e. for call dispatching, home landing etc. ??

Any help is most welcome..

The most common form of Duplex operation is what is called "Free car duplex". One car, designated the "Home" car, parks at the home landing when it has no other call assignment. The home landing can be any landing, but is the one where a call is most likely to occur next, typically the "Lobby" floor, where all or most people enter and exit the building. The other car is designated the "Free" car and parks wherever it completes its' last call. The cars swap assignment, the first one concluding its' calls is the Home car. Certain conditions will call the home car into service, e.g., a down hall call behind the up running Free car. For a more complete description of operation, read a duplex-selective-collective specification, available from any manufacturer of control systems.
