Damp Tack Room

Teresa, I can't find your thread but...

I agree your tack room should be get some air circulating in it soon. Just remember not to construct anything that will invite rodents. Remember all the nasty things that like to eat/chew leather during construction.

Before construction, try hanging barbecue charcoal briquets(sp?)in an old pair of panty hose. Or place them in a hanging wire basket. They will absorb the moisture in the air. Works in our root cellar (former bomb shelter). After paying for tack, who has money to pay for construction anyway? :)

Christina,

My saddle and tack has been sitting in my kitchen until I can find a metal cabinet. Last winter, three bridles were chewed on. I couldn't even put two together for one good one. The year before, our log splitter's wire was chewed so now my husband will not let anything with wires in the barn.
