How about Fab Fotos.

OK, and now for the critique.

Use a larger font size. Use a light background with dark text. The extremely colorful advertising banner at the top is distracting. (Yes, I know you are getting the web space for free, but there are many low-cost alternatives. I use Cedant.)

Put a little DHTML to work and use a Cascading Style Sheet to give your top sites an underline when I mouse over them.

Make sure all of your links go somewhere. Bas Hoeben's site is down. (either that or Tripod is offline.)

Seems like a good reference site, overall.

Thanks for the suggestions - the correct url is http://www.fabfotos.com

my apologies for the mistake - the neurons to the fingers don't fire too well late at night I guess -

the Bas Hoeben site must have been down - I just checked the link and its correct -

as for the banners - well there is no such thing as a free lunch - especially if you need cgi

the format and design is a work in progress - but the content is building and I hope to ensure that the site links to quality sites.

thanks again

Pretty cool concept. I like the whole idea of directing traffic to another site that includes works from other photographers. Currently most of the email inquires from my site are from students looking for suggestions and advice. At the top of my recomendations ... look at, study and experience other photo artist's work, go out and shoot, experiment, and study the technical from exposure to printing and displaying.

I was considering becoming involved in your directory but I couldn't find a category that felt comfortable. Fine Art Black and White Photography is much more than just landscapes.

Take care ... David http://www.ditzelphotography.com
