I, for one, will not be leaving...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

Sorry, I do not believe that we should let one person take this place down. I disagree with my mates who believe the answer is to run to another board. I wish them well, and may post there, but this is my home-and I will be damned if I am going to let one individual who yells the loudest or who writes the most graffiti, chase me out of my home.

This forum has been a godsend for me, and I have met many excellant folks here. I am not going to give up the ship to a renegade who has no manners, no feelings for how other people feel, and who appears to be suffering from rampant narcissism. We need to pray for him-I ask Bok's Grokkers to keep CPR in our prayers. His behavior really does show that some healing is desperately needed.

In the meantime, surrendering this place to one person bent on proving his BALLS are the biggest is not something I am going to do. You can expect more posts from me very shortly. ALl I can say, CPR, is we love you, and hope that maybe, just maybe, you can get outside of yourself and see that this forum is not your forum-It is OUR forum, and aside from any excuse or justification you can come up with, you need to share. It is OUR forum to share, my friend, and I hope you can show what heart you do have by sharing with us.

Yo, go for it, FS! (Why do I suddenly feel like I'm in the "Big Brother" house? And yes, I'M the one who watches it!)

For those who prefer to relocate to calmer climes: Godspeed, and no hard feelings whatsoever. I've learned from every one of you (yes, even from cpr).

-- I'm Here, I'm There (I'm Everywhere@so.beware), September 17, 2000.

CPR has a domineering personality. He domineered the GNIABFI forum, he domineered Debunker's and he has domineered this place too. GNIABFI and DeBunker's no longer exists and I suspect down the road this place will end up the same way. CPR is not capable of letting other people have a say in anything without jumping down their throats or belittling them in some way. Whenever I see his name on threads I now skip over them.

-- skippy (skippy@skippyyyyy.xcom), September 17, 2000.

Nice post as always, FS.

I agree with you to some degree it is / was Our Forum, however, I simply cant get beyond the threads with various colors, so you cant even read them.

Also, I tried to revive Oxy's original thread She thinks my tractor is sexy. If you have not read it, it is a 'keeper'. I thank Peg who was able to link it at which point I did add a post to it to bring it up for Flint.

Flint and I touched lightly on it last nite at Bok's. What hurt me was that now it is almost to the middle and soon will again fall to the archives. I did this because it meant something to me. IMO, it has a spiritual meaning if you really read it, you will see how quickly our lives can and do change.

I miss Oxy. We had fun talking and it disturbs me to no end what is going on here. Yes this board has had 'hard'times before. We survived LL and other messes. Uncle DeeDah commented on this as well.

I like this place because it is very user friendly. I came to know alot of 'good' people. I guess I dont get why anyone would waste time attempting to destroy a forum. For me it was as well, a Godsend.

Folks helped me thru very difficult times, and goodness knows, I've learned alot here. I dont wish to leave. What else is there to do?

I will stay on 'lurk' mode and respond ONLY to reasonable posts. Thanks for the encouragement FS, you are a great person. Hmm, and the rest, keep up the good posts, and okay, I too shall 'attempt' to wait it out, while posting as well at Anita's new roost. :-)

-- consumer (shh@aol.com), September 17, 2000.

CPR is a pud. Ignore his posts, do not respond. If he is as smart as he leads you to believe, he'll leave the forum.

-- Uncle Bob (unclb0b@aol.com), September 17, 2000.

I responded several times to oxy's tractor post, and to your story, too. I was welled with tears at work and had to go to the bathroom to not show it to everybody(after all how do you explain these relationships we have on this board to folks at work who DGI?)

I will look for it and bump it again to the top.

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), September 17, 2000.

I think you have a valid point, skippy. So far as I've found, there are four ways to deal with a domineering personality such as CreePeR's:

(1) Logically argue the point. Well, forget THAT approach.

(2) Confrontation. Nope, I'm not gonna fight someone on their turf, unless I have no other option.

(3) Ridicule. Nah. He's immune. (But it's fun.)

(4) Ignore him. This is the last resort, because it's the hardest to accomplish (and I'm as guilty as anyone else). But it's also, in my experience, the most effective defense. Just skip over anything that has cpr (or one of his many aliases) listed as the author.

But I always try to remember this: If he didn't have this as his outlet, God only knows what he'd set his little pea-brain doing around Dallas. Those poor people down there have enough problems already.

Someone has to stay behind to clean up the last of THE GARBAGE here and turn out the lights. THE GARBAGE is YOU. I WILL REMAIN HERE UNTIL ALL THE GARBAGE IS TAKEN OUT! REMEMBER!

-- cpr (buytexas@swbell.net), September 17, 2000.

FS:

I commend your intentions. Allow me to reinforce them. I think that every attempt should be made to keep this place functioning. I will joing the effort.

(Note: Next week I will be at the coast. I will not post from Tuesday until Sunday. Don't presume I've bailed ship. I have not.)

>> Someone has to stay behind to clean up the last of THE GARBAGE here and turn out the lights. THE GARBAGE is YOU. <<

Assuming this is the real cpr and not the equally-annoying clone, this statement really does bring out both a clear intention and motivation. The expressed intent is to shut down the forum ("turn out the lights"). The motive is that cpr is intolerant of us (we are "garbage").

There is nothing we can do to make us become other than garbage in cpr's eyes. He is not living in the present, so present actions make no impact on him. For a self-proclaimed Christian, this is a sad way to live one's beliefs. Jesus said we must forgive as often as seventy times seven occasions. Judging by his "garbage" statement, cpr just sneers at this sentiment.

as I said on my other post, if we all pray for CPR every day for the next two weeks; if we pray for his health and happiness, I think it will be effective. I did not want to join the name-calling parade and I realized I did just that in my intial post. I care about everybody here, including CPR, and I DO wish him the best, and pray that he realizes that this is a WE forum, not HIS forum. CPR-I apologize for any mud-slinging I may have done in my initial post. There are many rooms in this mansion known as TB Uncensored. You cannot be in attendance in every one of them. You will get exhausted, and all of this energy you are putting out, the negativity, is going to hurt you, ny friend. That negativity has to channel through you, and it can only do harm. The love of Christ can heal you-let his magnificent glow salve your wounds and fill you with warmth and grace.

It is obvious to me that he needs love. Let's send our love to him, and see if that works. Start tonight and let's check back in in two weeks.

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), September 17, 2000.

Charles:

There is no test to take. I was not a doomer; in fact, I did not show up here until post rollover. I have not walked a mile in your shoes so I cannot understand why you feel the need to do what you are doing. I am trying to be nice here-I really do care about the condition of your soul-not to "save it", but to see it healed. You do not see this now, but speak to us in 6 months, if you continue on your current path, and tell us how you feel then.

It is not a happy state of being to remain on a crusade. I know. I have been there. I crusaded for a few years in the fellowship of narcotics anonymous-I was exposing their world service office for the crooks they were-they were stealing money from recovering addicts and traveling the world with it. I had the facts and I debunked them at every corner.

And you know what? I was right. My friends and I were able to effect changes, and we won a copyright case filed against us for printing NA literature and giving it out for free. A federal court ruled the world service office could not stop us from doing this. This is the short version.

All that debunking, however, took a heavy toll on me-I had been channeling all that anger, and that mistrust, and I ended up relapsing and almost dying in the process.

I am not speaking out of the side of my mouth-crusades ARE necessary and good where they effect change. BUT, when one loses balance, where one can only see the crusade and nothing else, that myopic view ultimately leads to disaster-I was not t he only to relapse as a result of my crusade, and those that stayed clean suffered in other ways. Yes, it is important to put up the good fight-but there IS a time to rest, to recharge, and to assess the situation. I will tell you that to continue at the rate at which you are, you run the risk of great injury to yourself. Maybe you will suffer no ill consequences, but the changes are you will.

The smart man learns from his mistakes. The wise man learns from the mistakes of others.

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), September 17, 2000.

I realize that you probably won't listen to this, but I feel I must try anyway. CPR, you are not a hero who has saved the country from the menace of the "doomers". There never was such a menace. It is completely imaginary. You are a real estate salesman with no "special powers". You are completely unimportant except to yourself and your friends, if you have any. Your delusions of grandeur and your delusions of persecution indicate that you are seriously ill and need help right away ... before you start acting out your fantasies in "real life" and hurt yourself or someone else. Please seek counseling immediately, for everyone's sake.

Who else in the past has tried to dominate GNIABFI, Debunkers, TB2000, and TB2000 uncensored? Ladyillogic. She destroyed a good thing, and looks like CPR is of the same mindset. People have to scramble to get away from overbearing people. CPR is preaching to the wrong crowd, he is far better off looking into the mirror and use himself for an audience. This forum like others will come and go, and my advice to CPR is to reopen Debunkers. It appears as though he had more fun there than he is having here. With a personality like his, who would buy anything from him?

-- skippy (skippy@skippyyyy.xcom), September 17, 2000.

FS -- great post. Glad to see you and others aren't going to duck and run. Isn't there supposed to be a moderator here? What ever happend to OTBFR? I recall early on that we were asked not to post clogging HTML posts. ?? Then along came Big Text Man and embedded pics of all sorts. Now Charlie with his HTML spamming of full content from the old board.

Nobody bothers me here, but all the HTML crap has gotta go. Come on guys. You'll all had balls in the past to stand up for yourselves no matter who was trolling or going for the juglar. Why is every one so intimidated by CPR? Sure you're never going to win an argument with him. so what? why bother? Does his opinion of you all really matter that much to you?

This place is easy format. We've all come to know one another. Anywhere you go is just going to turn into another sleezy board with "acceptable" opinions. gag!!

-- (doomerstomper@usa.net), September 17, 2000.

one more thing -- look at how many posts are attacking Charlie. Same thing happened to Hawk, LL, Pro. By all the posts (subjects) about how CPR is a bad, bad boy --- you all are really the ones making it a spam haven. If you continually remark about how bad someone is, you leave them no choice but to continue to respond.

heheh--unless you're like me. I could give a royal shit :-)

-- (doomerstomper@usa.net), September 17, 2000.

Count me in on staying.

-- x (x@xyz.com), September 17, 2000.

Dear FutureShock,

Thank you for your post and the sentiments you expressed. I have come to admire and respect you, and the person you aspire to be.

I wish I could follow your example and not "jump ship", in fact, until now I did not even realize that I have been doing just that, little by little over the last several weeks.

I suppose at this time I am just too weary to wade through it all, to find those "special treasures" that keep me coming back here. I see good people trying to contribute to this forum, posting new threads of interest, only to have those efforts drowned out by more useless, repetitive, noise.

I just don't have it in me right now to be part of the solution. I am facing some difficult times right now, and I treasured this place as the means to escape for a while. Unfortunately, I think I must escape this place for a while, too. Best of luck to you, and thank you.

There are those who gush and ooze the poetic jargon of The Talk, then there are those - like you - who have the balls to stand their ground to Walk the Walk. You've got my respect and full support. Big slap on the back for you.

-- solid (as@rock.com), September 18, 2000.

FS, Thank you. You're a treasure to have here.

I'm just checking in to say that CPR hasn't driven me away, and won't. The only reason my posting has become erratic is that lately my life has become chaotic. Not necessarily bad-chaotic -- just ferociously busy. I'm hopeful that things will calm down for me soon, though.

The one painful thing lately though, is that what's happened to Oxy has really torn me up inside. Oxy, if you can read this, know that you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

-- eve (eve_rebekah@yahoo.com), September 18, 2000.

Good post Future Shock. Especially good in that you offer soemthing positive - Pray for cpr.

I'm still not sure that cpr is responsible for all of the nonsense attributed to him. We have had at least on person impersonating regulars on this forum. Cpr would be a ripe target for an imposter. Having been on several forums with him for almost two years, something in the last couple of weeks doesn't seem right. His posts started getting really wierd about the same time someone claiming to be King of Spain logged on. I'm not making any accusations, just stating that I think he is partly the victim of a troll. I'm also sure many of the strange posts were written by him.

I am almost embarassed by all the kind words here. You never know what it is you are doing or what impact you are having, until it is reflected back at you by others in your social circle.

I never set out to change minds, or to be an inspiration. I have hung out here because I found a set of open minds, and a true communion of souls. I found brethren here who, while they do not fully agree with me, were willing to listen to what I had to say.

As a result of many conversations here, I find out there are other lurkers/posters who say I have had a positive impact on their life- All I can say is thank God, as I am only a channel, and I have been graced with insight and inspiration at times, and we have all been lucky to be with one another when it has happened. I cannot name everyone who has been an inspiration to me-I would surely leave someone out-You all know who you are.

I know there will be peace, and I know we will all congregate here again-there is room again for all of us. May the love of God shine on all of us-it appears to be working already-the forum is a bit "quieter"

-- FutureShock (gray@matter.think), September 18, 2000.

Hmmmmm--go back to TB2000 and read all the posts from people saying to ignore her, she'll go away. She was deleted for her continual spamming. She was warned and given several chances to stop.

-- I remember (I remember@Irememberrr.xcom), September 18, 2000.

P.S. She spammed Bok's chat room terribly. It got so bad that Bok had to develop a "safehaven" where people could go to get away from her. LL was quite proud of her dirty deeds. Would you like to see some of her bragging posts?

-- I remember (I remember@Irememberrr.xcom), September 19, 2000.

Hmmmmm--go back to TB2000 and read all the posts from people saying to ignore her, she'll go away.

I would, except that there are none. If you know of any, feel free to post them.

She was deleted for her continual spamming. She was warned and given several chances to stop.

No, she was deleted because she started posts such as this one which many people misinterpreted and chose to find offensive. Even more offensive was the fact that she was formerly a "doomer" and had apparently "switched sides." By the time she wrote this thread the cries for "DELETE and BAN" went out and the deletions of her posts began. Then she started spamming.

-- (hmm@hmm.hmm), September 19, 2000.

Hmm, facinating threads! Especially the first one you linked. It's a perfect snapshot of the dinamics of the old TB2K forum for those still interested in analysing what went on (i.e. dinamics of group- think or memes.)

BTW, I wonder if "Hiding in Plain Sight" was really Ed Yourdon (scroll all the way down towards the end and read his post and LL's question). What do you think?

-- (smarty@wannabe.one), September 19, 2000.

Hmmm, wow what a reaction to LL! They (the doomers) were really that bad! I took a lot of heat too. Geez and Eddie (and KOS) to this day can't figure why polly arguments became heated.

I remember seeing hiding in plain sight a number of times on various threads. I didn't make a connection with Eddie but then again I gave up trying to determine anonymous posters.

You've picked a fine way to test your metal, FS. To pray and offer love to one who could so easily be labeled an enemy is a true sign one is working at becoming that which the great scriptures state we can be, that which our souls know we are, though buried it may be deep within. I have been blessed with the NEED to do this myself on too few occasions, including one gentleman this summer who caused myself and a loved one great pain and misery. Nothing save perhaps direct service purges the heart and mind of negativity felt towards another as that which you prescribe to do.

Bless you, my friend. Thank you for prodding us and nudging us towards a higher path, a road less traveled. I pray each of us takes heed of FutureShock's words. At the very least we may find a new level of compassion within. One never knows the true catalyst which ignites a person to change. My thinking is every little spark contributes until one day there's a great conflagration. The old shell is burned, the new and improved rises from the ashes.

Be a spark, each of you. Be a spark.

-- Bingo1 (howe9@shentel.net), September 19, 2000.

Thanks for the links Hmmmm. Interesting read. Don't know why CPR persists preaching to the choir, but reminding the pre2k TB posters of their attack dog tactics is something he feels compelled to do. How quickly everyone forgets what vileness WAS over there.

The pussy's at sleazy board just don't want to be reminded of it, so they ran and hid behind their "protected" board. They continue on with their delusions unaccosted.

I feel like the doomer/polly brew over here are ones that have LEFT those with their delusions. Sure a few wander over here, but for the most part preaching to the choir is getting just a tad bit boring.

This board was started for the uncensored right to speak about Y2k and beyond. I'm grateful CPR has that right, and in the midst of the mudslinging, most posters here are tame compared yourdans hell hole from last year.

-- (doomerstomper@usa.net), September 19, 2000.

hmmm. interesting links. Reading those old threads and some others I was struck by what a reasonable, engaging person Laura was before her online persona kinda went over the edge. Oh, she said some very pointed things and maybe she had some facts wrong (I don't know) and she was a bit provocative but it was not malicious, it was telling it as she saw it. You'd think it could have been used for openers to better conversations Hah, you would think.. Many had tried before and it was not to be.
