I have a whole tree full of seckel pears. Has anyone ever canned these? Do you have to peel them? Can them whole?? Help!! Thanks,

Hi Mary. I did these last year, and yes I did peel them. I cut them into small pieces and cooked them in a light syrup for a few minutes, shoved them down into the jars, covered with syrup, burped and boiling water bathed them for about 25 min qts. The directions that I have say to peel and core so that's what I did.

Someone else may know better if you can leave the peel on or not.
