International crude oil price rose sharply,
yesterday, following a 130,000 barrel per day (BPD)
production cut by the Anglo-Dutch oil giant,
Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) thus
jeopardising the recent decision by member
countries of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting
Countries (OPEC) to lower prices by 800,000
BPD production increase.
