Container of Unknown Chemicals Explodes, Prompts Fire Officials to Order Sheltering Residents

The Contra County (California) Office of Emergency Services reported that a single container of unknown chemicals exploded and was leaking at the Dexter Hysol facility at 2850 Willow Pass Road in Bay Point.

Fire officials requested that individuals downwind from the facility shelter-in-place. This included the 2800 block of Willow Pass, Sycamore Court, and North Broadway. The area encompassed about a quarter-mile
