What was your favorite childhood toy?

I think mine was a toss up between crayons and bubbles. But I liked Barbies and such, too..they were fun to fuck around with. "Honey, why are Barbie and Ken naked?" "They're ..uh..taking a bath." You know.

Mine was my "Tiny Tears" doll (i'm dating myself) not literaly, just chronilogically. I am a twin. Me & my twin sister always got the same presents, but in diferent colors. Like our dolls, mine always had brown hair, as I did and Kathleen's was blonde hair. I guess I was destined to be the stronger one, or the boy-side of the twin thing, because I always got blue what-ever & she got pink. Back to the doll, I took her everywhere, even across the street to play with our neighborhood friends. For some reason I used to be in such a hurry that I managed to trip & fall at least 3 or 4 times a week! So, over the course of time, I developed a permanent scar on my knee, which is still visible today. Those falls always ended with my dropping my doll who also ended up having a permanent scratch on her left cheek! The only neat thing was after each fall, I would go crying to my Mommy with my bleeding knee & Tiny Tears scratched cheek and we both got one of those band-aids with stars on them, which helped us both tremendously.

There's no way anyone's going to remember this except me (because I'm old). There was a cartoon on television that had a companion toy that you could buy at the store and I begged my mother to buy it for me and I swear I loved that thing. It was a plastic sheet that stuck onto the television screen and a set of extra waxy crayons to draw on it. When the cartoon came on, you'd stick your little sheet of plastic on the screen and they'd tell you what to draw or write. I don't know if I described that well at all. I guess you just had to be there.

I just made myself feel really old.
