US-Canada: 1700 Newer School Buses Recalled by Blue Bird

The Blue Bird school bus company is recalling 17-hundred of its buses in the U.S. and Canada to check for steering problems.

The recall affects Blue Bird's All-American model built between February tenth of 1999 and August 24th of this year.

The company reports because of a parts shortage, buses had temporary steering shafts installed and then removed. Company officials say some bolts may have been omitted when the permanent shafts were installed.

The Macon, Georgia-based company says no accidents or injuries have been reported on the affected buses.

Blue Bird says the recall affects buses in just about every state.
