Electric Use Sets Records Heat records weren't the only thing broken this past week. San Antonio set multiple electrical usage records on Tuesday according to City Public Service. The peak time of electrical use was between three and four p-m when temperatures climbed to the 111-degree mark. Ron Schaefer, the director of operations with CPS says "San Antonio is in better shape than other parts of Texas which has had to disrupt interruptible industrial customers due to insufficient power." Schaefer says the city has ample capacity to supply San Antonio's electrical needs.
