Corel Corporation is to close its Irish
operation with the loss of 139 jobs in
Dublin. The company, which is passing
through distinctly choppy financial waters,
is to relocate its engineering arm to its
corporate headquarters in Canada as part
of a $40 million cost cutting programme.

Almost 50 per cent of Corel's revenue comes
from its localisation arm which was until
this morning, based entirely in Ireland.
