A MAN was seriously ill last night after a pit bull terrier bit off his private parts.
The 26-year-old was playing with the dog at a friend's house when it sank its teeth into his groin. He was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.
Police in Wolverhampton said: "The man's injuries were horrific. At first we thought they had been caused by a weapon with a jagged edge."
The victim was "stable" in a local hospital following a series of operations. The dog has been put down.
