Framing Kits

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Has anyone here ever used one of those framing kits that allow you to build with straight cut lumber? Our lumber yard has them for 2x4' and 2x6's. I called and asked if the relative strength was the same. I was assure that it was the same or better. Does anyone have any ideas about this?

I have used starplates with 2x4's and they held up to some heavy snows with no problems. I am assuming the framing kits would work on the same principle.

Lbf: We used the kits to build a playhouse and garden shed. The buildings are still standing, despite the winds here. They are really easy to use, and we ordered ours from a catalog for about $30 each for up to an 8 x 12 building, and you can combine more than one kit. They work really well. Jan
