ok, so I go from approx less than 2 miles from my house, and gas is $1.33 per gallon on Thurs 8-31 @11:00 A.M. ish or so. I says to self "self ya needs gas'. Self says 'ah heck it can wait, get it a lil closer to da house. So I gets closer to da house and imagine my utter delight, it was NOW $1.62.9 (me and self never can figure out why they dont round this crap up).

Cpr, I KNOW I KNOW, its just the Holiday weekend, but this is BS!!!!!

Gouging us just cause its the Holiday weekend.

And still I keep saying, If I just would NOT have listened to myself, I could have saved .30 per gallon. Damn.

Next time I talk to 'self' I'll make sure I listen.

$36.50 bbl by 10-1-00! With all the upcoming events: September UN & OPEC powwows, Nov. Elections, October Surprise(s)(Clintoon wag da' doggie style), Saddam, BIG thirsty SUV's, continued Y2K pipeline breakdowns, etc.,etc., love them early '01 cheap $40 crude calls.

My bet is that the oil prices will stick at the mid-$30's range. Any higher than that the reserves will have to be dipped into, and price manipulation on such a scale that even the mainstream media wouldn't be able to miss...

K8B - I'm also seeing quite a few more large cars/custom vans/heavy trucks for sale by owner this weekend. At first I thought it was a car meet, until I saw the "for sale by owner" signs. It would seem that the gas prices are really starting to bite into people's wallets now!

$52 - $64 bbl, with gas averaging about $7.50 a gallon nationwide.
