Scotland: EXAM CHAOS SPREADS TO STANDARDS

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Grassroots Information Coordination Center (GICC) : One Thread

The chaos that has hit the Highers spread
to the Standard grades as it was revealed
that almost 5000 results are wrong.

. . .

The latest exams chaos came as it emerged
that Government chiefs had blocked plans
for MSPs to debate the issue.

. . .

Last night SQA interim Chief Executive Bill
Morton said the same issues that affected
the Highers results - computer problems,
missing information or inaccurate data -
have again been to blame.

It came on the same day that the Scottish
Qualifications Authority admitted that almost
5000 Standard Grade results, involving more
than 4000 pupils, would have to be rechecked
because they were "affected by inaccurate or
incomplete data".

. . .

"New Labour have made a mockery of our
education system system. Sam Galbraith is
presiding over an education department in
utter chaos."
